About Air Force flight name tags

Most Air Force flight suits now wear embroidered tags, but the leather tag lives on: on the A-2 jacket, for heritage events, and as the classic gift for a new pilot.

  • Line 1: Call sign or first name, then last name (enlisted: rank first) ("SPARK" CALDWELL, MSGT "BAT" MASTERSON)
  • Line 2: Rank and service (USAF, USAFR, ANG) or squadron, centered (CAPT USAF, MAJ ANG)

Silver on black or silver on brown matches silver Air Force wings. Gold is available if you want it.

Pilot, Senior Pilot and Command Pilot wings, plus Officer Aircrew, Enlisted Aircrew and Flight Surgeon.
