What the uniform manuals say, and what people wear
The Department of the Air Force dress instruction (DAFI 36-2903, 29 February 2024 edition) covers both services: it says Air Force terminology applies to the Space Force equivalent. Para 9.5.2.3 authorizes the A-2 jacket for space operations officers (13S), mission-ready space systems operators (1C6) and anyone who has earned a qualifying badge, alongside rated aircrew. The tag (para 9.5.2.2) is 2 x 4 inches, brown or black leather or simulated leather, with the wings or qualifying badge, first and last name, rank and service in silver.
The instruction's example line says USAF. Guardians put USSF there; that is practice, not a line in the instruction, and the builder starts on it. Call signs are an Air Force flight duty uniform rule, so the Space Force page has no call sign line. If you hold no badge yet, pick No insignia.
Layouts
Two centered lines, the Air Force A-2 pattern. Four boxes and name-on-top are available too.

Colors
Silver on black or silver on brown, the Air Force A-2 colors. Gold is available if your unit wears it.
Insignia
Space Operations and Missile Operations badges are being drawn from the official insignia; until then pick No insignia or an Air Force rating you hold. Ask for a badge with the wing request form. The art is redrawn from the official insignia (it is not official artwork) and engraved at the badge's real width where one is published, otherwise about two-thirds of the tag width, like the tags we measured.
Questions
Can Guardians wear the A-2 jacket?
Yes. DAFI 36-2903 para 9.5.2.3 authorizes it for 13S space operations officers, mission-ready 1C6 space systems operators and anyone who holds a qualifying badge. Your command has the final word.
Should the tag say USAF or USSF?
The instruction's example line says USAF. Guardians wear USSF in practice, and the builder starts on it. Pick USAF or type your squadron if your unit prefers.
